“Try to recognise the fact that you're not unique in suffering [from imposter syndrome]. The way that you're suffering is unique to you but as a problem it's something that actually affects very large numbers of people. In any setting where you're in a room full of people there will be other people in the room feeling exactly the same.”

Imposter Syndrome

Here Dave talks about his life and career experiences and the impact of Imposter Syndrome and self doubt on his life and how he has overcome this. He goes into detail that even as a VC of a University he experiences Imposter Syndrome and highlights that it's okay to feel that way and that there are different ways that you can work on overcoming this.

Impostor syndrome, also known as impostor phenomenon or impostorism, is a psychological occurrence in which an individual doubts their skills, talents, or accomplishments and has a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a fraud. They often attribute their accomplishments to luck rather than to ability.
