Postgraduate Research Support Group
Is your research emotionally demanding? Are there aspects that you find difficult to discuss in supervision? This group was set up by postgraduate researchers at the University of Hull, to offer fellow students a supportive, non-judgemental, and confidential* space to discuss the challenging or emotionally demanding aspects of their research. Following the positive response we received from the 'Emotionally demanding research day' we held at the Wilberforce Institute towards the end of 2021, we have organised a regular informal monthly meeting, as requested by many of you.
We have decided to hold these over lunchtime (12.30-1.30pm), so as many people can attend as possible.
Please find the dates for the rest of the academic year below:
4th March - Wilberforce Institute
29th March - Campus
28th April - Wilberforce Institute
23rd May - Campus
22nd June - Wilberforce Institute
19th July - Campus
8th Sep - Wilberforce Institute
Please let Sarah Colley ( s.e.colley-2013@hull.ac.uk ) know if you'd like to be sent the link to attend via MS teams
Feel free to bring lunch with you, and if you have any questions, please get in touch with either Sarah, Kirsty, or Jasmine on the contact details below. We look forward to meeting you!
Sarah – S.E.Colley-2013@hull.ac.uk
Kirsty – K.Fishburn@hull.ac.uk

*Except where there are safeguarding concerns. This group is not designed to provide mental health support, information on these services will though be available. It is likely that we will be discussing a range of potentially challenging topics, and you are free to drop-in/leave at any point. We ask that participants agree to maintain each other’s privacy and be respectful of individual experiences.
