Workshop description
Regardless of which subject you are writing for, there are key points you should consider when referencing. A large part of referencing properly is simply a case of following rules and an uninformed or careless approach can lead to many easy marks being lost in your assignments.
Referencing is an important academic practice for students to master. This workshop will provide the opportunity to discuss when to reference, what makes a good reference and what is an appropriate number of references within an academic essay/report.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
- Understand the UoH Footnote system for referencing work
- Understand some of the key elements of referencing effectively
- Correctly reference information from a variety of sources

If you are about to undertake your first assignment or need to understand the feedback on an assignment to try to improve future marks, then this workshop can help you. Students from schools using UoH Footnotes will benefit from attending this workshop, where a hands-on approach will be used to demystify referencing and make you wonder why you ever struggled!
