Peer Support Community: Foundation year

The Foundation Year Peer Support Community provided students with the opportunity to experience the benefits of a mentor-mentee relationship, based within a supportive community. Using the resources below the team were to recruit and train students, keep up regular communication with mentors, advertise community events and evaluate the scheme. Following recruitment and training, the team developed a light-touch approach, supervising the mentors, who were then responsible for communicating with mentees. The resources should be adaptable to suit other similar schemes, allowing busy staff to support peer mentoring initiatives within their area.
