Every human ailment has some links to our genes. Studies continuously demonstrate, how Genomic information can be effectively used in health care today. The introduction of genomics in Healthcare settings, will see health care services play an important role in changing the way patients & their families are managed. This could be by detecting genetic variants that will affect a patient’s own health & establishing how best to treat or by highlighting the risk of passing on a genetic alteration, which could affect future family planning. As health professionals, a basic understanding of genomics is essential! Community services see more than 90% of the population (NHS LTP 2019).
