Reading List Support Material: Adding Websites

The bookmarklet tool

To add items to your reading list you will need to have bookmarklet tool installed. See the Getting Started page for instructions on how to do this and how to get permissions for editing your lists.

Adding a website

Go to the website you wish to add

  1. Click  Add to readinglists@hull icon from your favourites toolbar or the browser plugin
  2. Make sure resource type is set to Website or Webpage
  3. Check and amend the data, you may need to add additional fields and edit the title field.
  4. Click on Create and add to list icon
  5. Select the appropriate list / section / and assign a level of importance.
  6. Click OK

Remember to assign a level of importance: Essential, Recommended, or Background. See the Reading List Policy for further details.

Adding a manual bookmark

If the item will not bookmark you can create a manual bookmark.

  1. Go to My bookmarks icon from within the Reading list software
  2. Click on Add a manual bookmark icon
  3. Choose ‘Add manually’.
  4. Add the Resource Type
  5. Add and complete all the necessary fields (not forgetting to add the web address).
  6. Click the Online Resource button Online resource icon

Useful tip!

If you don't see the bookmark you've created when you go into your reading list, click on the refresh button from your browser 

Publishing and Reviewing

When you have finished any changes to your list please remember to click on 

If you have any book order or digitisation requests please also click on  request review icon
