Welcome

Supporting you during the Coronavirus outbreak

During the Coronavirus outbreak there will likely be changes to the Library that will affect what services and materials are available to you. Please be assured that we’re here to help and will continue to support you in your studies throughout this period. The video on the right explains what support is available.

You can contact the Academic Liaison team at library@hyms.ac.uk for help via email or to arrange an appointment via video chat or telephone. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need support.

We have developed a guide with FAQs to help you at this time and guide to preparing for the Autumn term. Remember to keep checking the University’s Coronavirus updates for the latest information.

Turnitin

Turnitin is a ‘text matching’ software that is used by institutions all over the world to ensure the integrity of student writing. The University of York subscribes to Turnitin as an institution and it is integrated with the Yorkshare VLE. Student work can be uploaded to Turnitin submission points and is cross-referenced with the contents of Turnitin’s database. Turnitin then produces ‘originality reports’ that show the percentage of matched text in the assignments.

More information and workshops can be found on our Turnitin page.
