Reading List Support Material: Adding a journal article

The bookmarklet tool

To add items to your reading list you will need to have bookmarklet tool installed. This will appear in your toolbar as or may already be there as

See the Getting Started page for instructions on how to do this and how to get permissions for editing your lists.

Adding an online journal article (using the DOI)

1. Find the journal article and view the 'Article Summary'

2. Click

3. Check that the information is correct

4. Ensure the Online Resource box is ticked , click 'Link to' and choose DOI

5. Either  which will add the bookmark straight to your list OR simply click on and you can add it to the list at a later date

Adding a journal article (using a web address)

             

1. Find the journal article and view the 'Article Summary'

2. Click

3. Check that the information is correct

4. Ensure the Online Resource box is ticked , click 'Link to' and choose web address

5. Either  which will add the bookmark straight to your list OR simply click on and you can add it to the list at a later date

Adding a print journal article

1. Find the journal on the library catalogue and click on the title

2. Click 

3. Make sure the resource type is set to 'Journal'

4. Add in the 'Has part' field:

In this tab you can add the details of the article; include the article title, authors, volume, issue and page numbers if available

5. Either  which will add the bookmark straight to your list OR simply click on and you can add it to the list at a later date

If you would like the article digitising, please add a Library note: "Please digitise"

When you have finished any changes to your list please remember to click on

Article not available via the Library

If the article you wish to add to your reading list is not available in print or electronic format then it is possible to request that it is digitised and placed in the Digital Texts area of the portal.
