Adding book chapters

There are two methods for adding a book chapter. Method 1 is simply to bookmark the book and add a student note to the record with the details of the chapter to read. Method 2 enables you to add the specific chapter details which then appear on the main reading list page rather than the book details.

Adding a chapter from a book held in the Library - Method 1

1. Search for the book that the chapter is from on the library catalogue and click on the title of the book

2. Click     from your favourites toolbar

3. Click on  

4. Add a student note with the details of the chapter to be read

     

Adding a chapter from a book held in the Library - Method 2

1.  Find the book on the library catalogue and click on the title

2.   Click  from your favourites toolbar

3.   Click on the ‘Add field’ drop down menu, choose Has part then click on Add

   

4.   Select Chapter from the ‘Resource Type’ drop down menu

5.   Complete the details of the chapter, e.g. author, page numbers. You can add more fields using the ‘Add field’ drop down

6.  Either  which will add the bookmark straight to your list


     OR   simply click on and you can add it to the list at a later date

If you would like the chapter digitising, please add a Library note: "Please digitise"


Adding a chapter from a book not held in the Library

If the book is not stocked that the chapter is from, simply find on Amazon, click on the book title and    from your favourites toolbar.

Then follow the steps for Method 1 or Method 2 as above.

If you don't see the bookmark you've created when you go into your reading list, click on the refresh button from your browser
