Research Data Management

This guide provides an introduction to managing research data at the University of Hull, for University staff and students.

Planning for the management of data used or generated in a research project is key to the success of the project and its longer term impact. Research funders and ethics committees require evidence that issues relating to data collection, storage and preservation have been worked through before a project gets underway.

Library Workshops

The University of Hull's Organisational Development programme for Academic and Research Staff includes a 90 minute workshop dedicated to Managing Your Research Data which is applicable to all disciplines, as well as a dedicated workshop for health and medical researchers.

Funders' requirements for Data Management Plans are covered in the faculty-specific Good Grant Writing workshops in the same programme.

The module Modern Researcher 1 for new PhD students covers data management planning.
