Biomedical Sciences: Can't find it?

Can't find what you're looking for?

The library has a lot of stuff, but unfortunately we can't fit in everything. If you've searched the library catalogue and we don't have a particular book, or if we don't have access to an article you feel you need, here are some options you may wish to consider:

Using other libraries

SCONUL Access is a scheme granting borrowing privileges at higher education libraries in the UK and Ireland. For instructions on how to sign up, see the SCONUL Access helpsheet.

You can also become a member of the British Library. Information is available on how to register in the British Library's Help for Researchers.

The following is a list of library catalogues that may prove a good starting point for looking elsewhere and seeing which libraries hold the books you would like to view.

Inter-Library Loans

The Inter Library Loans Service enables you to obtain items that we do not have in our own stock of books, periodicals and electronic resources; most requests are made through the British Library.

The service is available to all members of the Library and there is a charge for each request, based on national tariffs. You will be allocated a number of free requests by the library, and you may be able to obtain departmental authorisation. Otherwise you will need to meet the cost yourself.

Suggest a Purchase

Students, is there a book you would like the library to buy?
